This bike is a (Mongoose) Blue Max. The rims are Peregrine 48's. One of, if not the 1st original 48 spoked BMX wheel!

My parents bought this bike for me in Germany when I was 10 or so.... Back in 1979-1981.

I guess that means the bike is about 25-30 years old...................Darn, that means I'm old too....ha, ha, ha!

Anyway, this will be my first project BMX bike. "To restore my childhood dream!"

Remember, at 10 years old, the bike you see here meant FREEDOM and independence!

This bike took me everywhere! To my girlfriends house for some "make-out" time, to the mall to catch up with my homies, to the weekend races with my parents, etc.

Goal: looking to revive my childhood dream

Do I hear Mid Life crisis? Smile

CJ

I do believe the Blue Max's were made in 81-84 but Im not a goose guy. Very Happy What are your plans with it? Surviver chrome or rechromed? The Peregrine HP48 wheels came on almost every Haro Master/Sport from the early to late 80's, do you have both wheels? Are you planning on trying to find the Original parts of do you remember the parts you had on it?
